My mom called me last week and said that we had been invited to a family reunion on Sunday. This was not on our side of the family... My granddad's sister-in-law was coming in from Dallas and it was her family. My great uncle died a few years ago and I haven't seen her since the funeral... Sunday after church I go home change my clothes and pick up my dish that I had made for the reunion (I mean if you are going to crash a reunion you must bring food) and then headed to Silo. On the way I called my mom and she said that they were leaving the house (they live in Silo). I drive up and get out of my car with my corn salsa in hand and notice that everyone has a bewildered look on their face as I go by (remember-not my side of the family). I start looking around and my parents and grandparents are not there yet.... I get to the food table and lay my dish down and two ladies approach me (uh, what do I say?) "Hi, I'm LaWanda Luton's granddaughter" and the ladies say "Oh, Yes they should be here shortly, Aunt Shirley is in the house" relieved that I am not going to be escorted off the property I go inside and find my wonderful aunt. A great time was had by all and I meet some very nice people.

BOYS BEING BOYS

My nephew absolutely loves his big cousin Ty. Dakota came over to my house with my parents one night to go out to eat. My uncle had just bought a motorcycle and my dad rides to work with him everyday. My dad's helmet was in the back of his truck and Dakota wanted to show it to Ty. The pictures show what happened next.... They were so funny!!! We were laughing our buns off.

RELAY FOR LIFE

TY AND I HAVE ENJOYED TAKING PART OF RELAY FOR LIFE FOR THE PAST FEW YEARS. THIS YEAR OUR SCOUT PACK WAS INVITED TO TAKE PART IN THE OPENING CEREMONY. VERY PROUD OF OUR KIDS.... THEY DID A GREAT JOB AND EVEN MADE THE DURANT PAPER.... JUST A FEW PICTURES OF THAT PROUD MOMENT..

I am a CryBaby!!

Have you ever found yourself wondering "Where did the time go?", I am sure that most of us have at some point. Well my baby (my one and only) has graduated from elementary school. I sat and listened as his principal said "before you know it you will be graduating from high school", that's when the tears came... They didn't just roll down they flooded my face. I remember holding that wee baby (3lbs 13oz) in my arms and crying just the way I cried at graduation. I can say that I felt that it probably bothered me a little more than most of the other moms but I am sure that all the other moms say the same thing..... Please no hate mail (HaHa); just saying that it was very hard on me... Anyways, here are some pictures from that day. My camera battery went dead right as graduation started. I am hoping that my friend Dottie will email me some that she took of him (hint, hint)....

Birthday Party!!!

My nephew Dylon's Birthday party was a few weekends ago. I am so behind!!!

He had a sleepover and Ty was invited. I did not know that it was a sleep over until we were leaving... My husband left that little detail out. My cousin Rachael's birthday is a few days before Dylon but she was in that weekend too and we were having a get together for her that night also. Ty had to make a decision.... He decided to stay with Dylon....

Here are some pictures of Dylon's Birthday Party.

Ty and his sayings

As most of you know my son is very funny. I have a few things to share with you that has come out of his mouth lately. Last Friday night we were on our way home; Ty rode home with me and Brandon drove his truck. We are side by side at the redlight and Ty and I pretend like we are going to race Brandon. When the light turns GREEN I go and get in front of Brandon. We were almost to Wal-Mart when I passed him and as we go over the railroad tracks a police car is coming the opposite direction. Ty said "mom are you speeding" and I replyed "no" and then came the question.... Uncle Tal is going to like this one.. Ty said "Do you know what happens when a cop pulls his wife over for speeding?" and I said "NO, what happens?" Ty said "Well, his wife is REALLY MAD when she gets out of jail!" is that funny or what!!!!

Then this morning Ty was telling me all about going to the Intermediate School yesterday for the big tour. I had told him about a month ago that we could go and tour it together if he wanted, then his teacher told me that they always took the third grade classes there right before school. Well after he told me about the tour he said "You get to go in August, so don't get your nickers in a wadd" I said where did you get that from and he said from Indiana Jones it just means don't get you undies in a wad....
